Brian Franz has been appointed as chief information officer (CIO) at State Street, effective from January 2020.In his new role, Franz will report to State Street’s COO, Lou Maiuri, and will become a member of State Street’s management committee.Franz has experience in the deployment of artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics to drive efficiency and effectiveness as well as to enable business growth and client satisfaction.He joins State Street from Diageo, a publicly-traded multinational company, where he initially served as global CIO when he started in 2008.Most recently, Franz worked as chief productivity officer leading information technology, enterprise operations and business service functions across the company at Diageo.Franz has also worked as CIO at PepsiCo International and served in a number of technology leadership roles at global companies including GE and AT&T.Commenting on the new hire, Maiuri said: “Brian Franz brings to State Street a unique combination of experience, knowledge and deep technology and operations prowess.
